Detailed Description

Reading Skills

Reading Comprehension

Students will practice reading unseen passages, both factual and discursive, to test their ability to understand the main idea, analyze information, interpret facts, and draw conclusions. The passages may involve data interpretation, opinion-based content, or descriptive writing. The aim is to improve speed, accuracy, and critical thinking while reading.

Case-based/Discursive Passages

These passages focus on evaluating higher-order thinking. They may involve situations, opinions, or case studies requiring interpretation, comparison, and application of ideas. Students will be trained to extract key points, make inferences, and evaluate arguments logically.

Writing Skills with Grammar

Formal Letter Writing

Students will learn to write formal letters such as letters of complaint, letter to the editor, letter of inquiry, and letters for placing orders. Emphasis will be on proper format, clear expression, relevance, and precision in language.

Analytical Paragraph Writing

Students will practice writing analytical paragraphs based on data, charts, tables, or outlines. The focus is on presenting information systematically, analyzing patterns, and drawing logical conclusions. This improves both writing and reasoning skills.

Grammar

This section includes topics like tenses, subject-verb concord, modals, determiners, reported speech, and clauses. The application of grammar will be tested through error correction, editing tasks, sentence reordering, and gap filling.
