The Malabar Scholarship is a scheme launched by the Malabar Charitable Trust to provide financial assistance to academically strong but financially poor female students by providing up to ₹10,000 as a one-time support for the academic year 2025–2026, for addressing economic barriers to pursue education.

What the Scholarship Covers

The scholarship amount is available for students to use to pay for:

• It may be used to graduate tuition fees, textbooks and/or notebooks, and necessary materials or items needed to study and/or undertake courses they have committed to study.
• This is especially valuable to students at government/aided colleges and universities who have little other option sources of funding since they cannot tap into private sources or alternative forms of scholarship.

Assessment Process

The selection process is conducted on a merit-cum-means basis. In other words:

• At the merit level, students' academic performance is determined by either their Class 10 marks or by previous examination marks.
• In the means criteria the family income level is assessed - that is, a most needy (and/or) poorest family is preferred Basically, the Malabar Scholarship Scheme will give priority to students from the most economically weaker families.
• The scheme will give priority to girls from SC, ST, OBC and EWS backgrounds.
• The funds will be transferred on approval to the bank account of the students selected after verification of the required documents.
