JEE Main Latest Updates 2024: 

  • The JEE Main Exam - Session 1 concluded on 1st February 2024 and the aspirants eagerly await the JEE Main Answer Key. NTA shall release the provisional answer key on the official website of JEE Main jeemain.nta.nic.in.
  • JEE Main Registration - Session 2 has started on the official website. The candidates can register themselves till March 2, 2024, up to 11.50 p.m. as per the official notice issued by the NTA. The JEE Main Exam Date for the April Session has also been revised and now the exam will be conducted from April 4 - 15, 2024, which was earlier scheduled for April 1 - 15, 2024

JEE Main Passing Marks - A Brief

JEE Main Passing Marks are the minimum marks required to pass the JEE Main Exam and vary for different categories. The JEE Mains Passing Marks for General Category are expected to be 90, 80 for EWS, 76 for OBC-NCL, and 57 & 46 for the SC and ST categories. The JEE Mains Passing Marks are based on several factors and make the candidates eligible to sit for the JEE Advanced Exam. To get admitted to the Top IITs, candidates must qualify JEE Advanced Exam with a valid score. 

Candidates must know that JEE Mains Passing Marks only serve as the criteria to qualify for the JEE Advanced Exam for admission to IITs. If a candidate is not willing to get admission to an IIT, they opt for the top engineering colleges accepting JEE Main Score. The JEE Mains Passing Marks are announced on the official website of JEE Main - jeemain.nta.nic.in and only those candidates who score higher than the criteria are eligible to sit for JEE Advanced.

JEE Main Passing Marks - Determining Factors

The JEE Main Passing Marks are based on several determining factors. To qualify and pass the JEE Main Exam, candidates must have higher marks or equal marks as the cutoff set. Below are the factors that decide the JEE Mains Passing Marks.

JEE Main Passing Marks to qualify for JEE Advanced

The top 2,50,000 students who appear for the JEE main Exam will be eligible for the JEE Advanced Exam. These top 2,50,000 candidates will be selected from both reserved and unreserved categories. The raw scores of the JEE Main Exam aspirants will be released online and the JEE Main Percentile will determine the JEE Advanced cutoff.
