Jammu University Distance Education: The Directorate of Distance & Online Education (DD & OE), previously known as The Directorate of Distance Education, was founded within the University of Jammu on March 3, 1976. DEB, AICTE, and UGC have all approved Jammu University Distance Education programs.
The university offers a wide range of Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Diploma programs to accommodate the diverse educational requirements of its student base. Since its inception, the enrollment has witnessed significant growth, progressing from fewer than 100 students at its inception to approximately 12,000 students during the academic year of 2017-18.
Additionally, the Directorate has set up a network of learner support centers strategically situated at Government Degree College Rajouri, Kathua, Udhampur, Bhaderwah, Poonch, Doda, and Kishtwar. These centers are dedicated to delivering comprehensive academic, administrative, and informational support services to distance learners pursuing undergraduate studies.

According to the Ministry of Human Resource Development's National Institutional Ranking Framework, the University of Jammu was recently ranked 51st overall. The University of Jammu has also been given autonomy by the University Grants Commission for upholding high academic standards, and it has been designated a category-I university in terms of graded autonomy.

The University of Jammu, also known as Jammu University, has been offering distance learning courses for quite some time. The university provides undergraduate, graduate, and diploma-level distance learning courses. The minimum requirements for these programs are last-degree passing scores, and applications can be submitted online.

The applicant can apply for admission to the UG degree distance education programs at Jammu University if they have completed their 12th grade through an approved Indian board. Along with the necessary Rs. 390 late fee
Admission to the PG specialized degree programs is contingent upon having a UG degree with the necessary subjects. The student must go to Jammu University's distance education admissions portal in order to submit an application for admission to the university. All courses, including Beds, will only be given out based on merit.
