What Does Freezing a Seat Means in JAC Delhi 2025?
Freezing a seat assures a candidate that he or she is content with his or her existing allotment and does not want to be involved in additional rounds. By opting to freeze, students lock in the given seat and essentially opt out of the upgrading process. Nevertheless, students who do not freeze seats or show up for document verification today will have their allotments revoked. This makes them ineligible for subsequent rounds, such as Round 3 and whatever spot rounds might occur afterward.
How to Freeze Seat in JAC Delhi Seat Freezing Round?
- Go to the official website of JAC Delhi counselling and log in with your JEE Main application number and password.
- After logging in, go to the seat-allotment section and accept Round 2 allotment.
- Search for the "Freeze Seat" option. It is only available after allotment and reporting are accepted.
- To select freezing, press the Freeze button and acknowledge your action when requested. This means that you are content with your present college and branch and do not want to join any more upgrade rounds.
- Accept the seat online by making the payment of the seat acceptance fee through the available payment modes.
- After payment success, download the payment receipt, allotment order, and freeze confirmation slip directly from the portal. Save both online and offline copies.
- Proceed to your allotted institute for physical document verification during the scheduled timings (typically 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM). Bring original certificates, fee receipt, allotment letter, and freeze confirmation.
- The physical verification process will complete your admission and complete the freezing procedure by validating the documents and stamping your slip.
JAC Delhi Fee Payment and Reporting Guidelines
- Candidates need to pay the seat acceptance fee online prior to freezing a seat.
- The fee is between Rs. 95,000 and Rs. 1,12,000, depending on the institute allotted.
- Candidates after payment need to carry the fee receipt copy and all original documents for physical verification.
- Physical reporting has to be made at the institute assigned to them during the given hours (10:00 AM to 3:00 PM).
- Non-payment of fee or failure to report physically will lead to cancellation of the assigned seat.
- In case of cancellation, the candidate will be dropped from further rounds of JAC Delhi counselling procedure.
How to Decide Right for JAC Delhi Seat Freezing?
The freeze option is best for candidates who are satisfied with their assignment or do not think they can improve further. It ensures admission with no risk to their existing offer. Students with a competitive rank who feel that they have a better seat in Round 3 might not freeze.
This choice should be made on a practical examination of cutoff trends in the earlier years, Round 2 closing ranks, and the approximate number of seats still expected to open up in the coming round. It is also necessary to think about whether the preference is for a particular branch or a certain institute since both are determinants in the upgrade strategy.
What After JAC Delhi Counselling Round 2?
The result of Round 3 allotment will be announced on June 30. For those who did not freeze their seat in Round 2 or were not allotted, this round is another chance. But once more, reporting, document verification, and fee payment will be compulsory steps for any new allotment.
A formal withdrawal facility is available until July 8. Candidates who freeze their seat or accept allotment but want to withdraw later can do so under this facility. Otherwise, students might have to restrict themselves to spot rounds, if at all held, anticipated sometime after July 10.
