The IIT Madras has opened its application process for Ph.D. and MS (Research) programs for the academic year 2024-25. Interested candidates can apply online for the IIT Madras PhD Admission 2024 between March 1, 2024, and March 31, 2024. The application window for the Research programs will be open till April 1, 2024, and will reopen on April 11, 2024, for January 2025 admission.
To be eligible for the Ph.D program, applicants must hold a Master's degree in the relevant stream with a minimum score of 55% or equivalent. They must hold a valid GATE score, UGC JRF/NET/CSIR-JRF, or equivalent qualification.
Students admitted to the Ph.D and MS programs for 2024-2025 under the Regular scheme are eligible for the Half-Time Research Assistantship (HTRA) seats. The total number of HTRA vacant seats for the Ph.D program is 319 and for the MS (by Research) is 161 for the July 2024-2025 Semester. IIT Madras offers a range of specializations in Ph.D programs.
