IIT Guwahati M.Tech Fee for the first year is Rs. 94,250. The Tuition Fee for the Sponsored candidates not serving as Teachers is Rs. 25,000. However, for all Other candidates, it is Rs. 5,000. There is no Tuition Fee for the SC/ST/ PwD candidates.
IIT Guwahati also includes other facility and amenities fees which total around Rs. 32,100. Except for the Tuition Fee, all other components of the IIT Guwahati Fees remain the same for all courses.

IIT Guwahati M.Tech admission for 2024 is based on GATE 2024 scores. Candidates for M.Tech admission must have a bachelor's degree in the required specialties and a minimum CPI of 6.0 on a 10-point scale, or 60% in the qualifying degree. The institute provides scholarships based on skills and requirements, and the admissions process is highly competitive.
IIT Guwahati offers an M.Tech+Ph.D Dual degree for its students. It offers specializations in Computer Science and Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
IIT Guwahati Dual M.Tech + Ph.D Eligibility Criteria:
The approval of the Board of Governors (BoG) is pending for the Dual M.Tech+PhD in Mechanical Engineering program. B.Tech/ B.Des candidates from an IIT with a minimum of 8 CPI on a 10-point scale are exempted from the GATE score eligibility criteria. For SC/ ST/ PwD candidates, there is a relaxation of 0.5 CPI or 5% marks. The Dual M.Tech+PhD program only admits Regular students who work full-time and receive Institute Assistantships.
IIT Guwahati Dual M.Tech + Ph.D Admission Process
IIT Guwahati Dual M.Tech + Ph.D Selection Criteria:
IIT Guwahati M.Tech admission is offered under Regular and specific Non-Regular categories, such as Sponsored, Employed Part-Time, and Project-Staff categories.
However, it is important to note that certain programs are only open to Regular category candidates, including M.Tech in Data Science, M.Tech in Food Science and Technology, and MDes in Electronic Product Design.
The seats available for non-regular categories are limited to 10% of the total seats in the respective disciplines. The details of the various studentship categories are provided below.

IIT Guwahati M.Tech (Non-Regular) Selection Criteria:
The IIT Guwahati M.Tech cutoff is the minimum score required for admission to various M.Tech courses. The COAP committee will release the IIT Guwahati GATE cutoff 2024 after the conclusion of GATE 2024 counseling. The cutoff score is determined by allocating 70% weightage to the GATE marks and 30% to the written test score.
