HSCST Fellowship Haryana 2025: Apply for PhD Research Funding in Science & Technology

The HSCST Fellowship Programme 2025 offered by the Haryana State Council for Science, Innovation & Technology, encourages students with M.Sc. & equivalent degree to pursue advanced research in areas like Earth Sciences, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Life Sciences. The selected students can avail a monthly stipend of up to ₹35,000 to pursue full-time Ph.D. research at recognized institutions / universities in Haryana.

Eligibility Requirements

The HSCST Fellowship Programme 2025 is open to applicants from aspiring individuals who meet the eligibility requirements. The successful applicant must show evidence of academic ability and meet the age and qualifications set out in the fellowship requirements.

Essential requirements - The applicant;

  • Must be under age of 28 as of January 1, 2024
  • Must have an M.Sc or equivalent
  • Must have Mc. minimum 55% marks in the qualifying degree
  • Must have qualified the Joint CSIR-UGC NET exam for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship (LS) on the 25,26, and 27 June 2024
  • Must not be on any other fellowships or financial aid from other sources

Benefits

HSCST Fellowship Programme 2025 selected candidates will be awarded a financial support depending on their qualification status, plus a contingency support for research related expenses.

For qualified candidates JRF-NET:

  • Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Monthly fellowship of ₹31000
  • Senior Research Fellow (SRF): Monthly fellowship of ₹35000

For qualified candidates LS-NET:

  • Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Monthly fellowship of ₹18000
  • Senior Research Fellow (SRF): Monthly fellowship of ₹21000

Other benefits:

  • A contingency annual fund of ₹20,000 will be given to the university or institution for research work, purchase of books, etc.
  • The contingency fund provides a fellowship of less than one year on a pro-rata basis. Unused funds can be carried to the following year. Detailed rules for the contingency fund are given in Annexure-II.

Documents Required

Applicants must provide the following documents to confirm their personal details and support their application for the HSCST Fellowship Programme 2025:

  • 10th Class Certificate (i.e., proof of age)
  • Recent passport size photo of the applicant
  • NET qualification certificate (JRF/LS)
  • Final year M.Sc. degree certificate/ provisional certificate
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Disability certificate (if applicable)

Selection Criteria

Selection for the HSCST Fellowship Programme 2025 will be entirely based on the academic merits established through national-level eligibility tests.

  • Candidates will need to have qualified the Joint CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship (LS), conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
  • Fellowship awards will be awarded for meritorious applicants cleared for either or both JRF-NET (CSIR/UGC) and LS-NET.
  • The fellowship will support value for those pursuing full-time Ph.D. research at a recognized university or institution in Haryana.
