Goa Board Class 12 Business studies Syllabus 2025–26: Download PDF Below

Goa class 12 Syllabus 2025-26 has been released online at gbshse.in. You can find the syllabus PDF for the main subjects included in the curriculum. There are a total of 5 main subjects included in the Goa curriculum, namely a first language subject, followed by a second language subject, and then Mathematics, Science, and Social Science for class 10th. You can also choose one elective subject, such as Fine Arts. Each subject will carry 100 marks, which are divided into theory and practical papers. The language papers, followed by Mathematics and Social Science, will be conducted for 80 marks, while 20 marks are allotted for the internal assessment.

Below given is the detailed syllabus:

Unit 1: Introduction to Business

  • Meaning and Nature of Business: Understanding what constitutes business activities, their objectives, and significance in society.
  • Economic and Non-Economic Activities: Differentiating between economic activities (production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services) and non-economic activities (activities undertaken for personal satisfaction).
  • Classification of Business Activities: Primary, secondary, and tertiary sectors; their roles and interdependence.

Unit 2: Forms of Business Organizations

  • Sole Proprietorship: Characteristics, advantages, and limitations of a business owned and managed by a single individual.
  • Partnership: Features, types (partnership at will, partnership for a fixed term), advantages, and disadvantages.
  • Joint Stock Company: Definition, characteristics, types (private and public), formation process, and advantages.
  • Cooperative Societies: Meaning, features, types, and the role of cooperatives in economic development.

Unit 3: Business Services

  • Banking: Types of banks (commercial, cooperative, and central bank), services provided (savings accounts, loans, etc.), and their role in business.
  • Insurance: Meaning, types (life, general, and health insurance), and importance in risk management.
  • Transportation: Different modes (road, rail, air, and water), their advantages, and their role in business operations.
  • Warehousing: Importance of storage, types of warehouses, and their role in inventory management.

Unit 4: Emerging Modes of Business

  • E-Business: Meaning and scope, advantages, and challenges.
  • Outsourcing: Definition, reasons for outsourcing, and its impact on business operations.
  • Telemarketing: Understanding the concept, methods, and benefits.
  • Franchising: Meaning, types, advantages, and challenges associated with franchising.

Unit 5: Social Responsibility of Business and Business Ethics

  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): Meaning, importance, and areas of CSR activities.
  • Business Ethics: Understanding ethical practices in business, importance of ethics in decision-making, and the role of ethics in building trust and reputation.
