The CLAT 2026 registration is now live from August 1, 2025, as stated by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs). Common Law Admission Test (CLAT 2026) is a national law entrance exam for law UG (Under Graduate) and PG (Post Graduate) admissions at 24 NLUs in India. Candidates who aspire to admit to best law colleges such as NLSIU Bangalore, NALSAR Hyderabad, WBNUJS Kolkata etc. must apply for CLAT 2026 through online mode on the official portal - consortiumofnlus.ac.in within the last date.

The last date to apply for CLAT 2026 is October 31, 2025. The CLAT 2026 test will be conducted on December 7, 2025 (Sunday) in offline mode. Candidates are advised to complete for CLAT 2026 registration as early as possible to avoid any last-minute technical glitches and have sufficient time to prepare. How to Register for CLAT 2026?

  • Visit the official CLAT website - consortiumofnlus.ac.in
  • Click on “Register” to create a new account
  • Enter your name, mobile number, email ID, and set a password
  • Verify your mobile number and email through the OTP sent
  • Log in using your registered email ID and password
  • Fill in the application form with personal, academic, and contact details
  • Choose your preferred exam centre from the given list
  • Upload required documents (photograph, signature, category certificate if applicable)
  • Select the NLUs in the order of your preference
  • Pay the application fee online via debit card, credit card, or net banking
  • Download and save the confirmation page and filled CLAT application form for future reference

CLAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates can check CLAT eligibility criteria below.

CLAT 2026 UG Eligibility (BA LLB)

  • Candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination.
  • Minimum marks required:
  • 45% for General/OBC/PwD/NRI categories
  • 40% for SC/ST candidates
  • Students appearing in Class 12 in 2026 are also eligible.
  • There is no upper age limit for UG CLAT.

CLAT 2026 PG Eligibility (LLM)

  • Candidates must have an LLB degree (3-year or 5-year) from a recognized university.
  • Minimum marks required:
  • 50% for General/OBC/PwD/NRI categories
  • 45% for SC/ST candidates
  • Candidates appearing in the final year of LLB in 2026 can also apply.
  • There is no age limit for PG CLAT.
