In Periodic Classification, they learn about the historical development of periodic tables, arrangement of elements, periodic trends (atomic size, ionization energy, metallic / non-metallic behavior), and classification of metals, non-metals, and metalloids. |
Unit II: Metals & Non-Metals (Metallurgy, Non-Metal Chemistry) | • Metals and their Properties, Extraction, Uses • Chemistry of Non-Metals | Students cover physical and chemical properties of metals (malleability, conductivity), reactivity series, corrosion, methods of extraction, alloys and uses.
