The Comptroller and Auditor General of India gets a salary of Rs. 250,000 per month. The deciding authority for CAG Salary is Indian Parliament. Comptroller and Auditor-General (Duties, Powers and Conditions of Service) Act, 1971 is the governing act for CAG Salary. The salary received by a judge of the Supreme Court of India and the salary received by the CAG is same. A CAG Auditor in India generally earns between ₹29,200 and ₹92,300 a month according to the 7th Pay Commission, which puts them in Pay Level 5. On top of the basic pay, they get perks like Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Transport Allowance. This means their total monthly salary usually ranges from about ₹40,000 to ₹55,000, depending on where they’re posted.
