Types of AME Courses

There are basically two types of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Courses, mentioned below:-

A Program (2 Years)

The candidates will have to go through one year of academic training, and the next year will be spent training in a real-world setting with airlines, MRO companies, and other organizations. The students will also be able to receive a stipend while in training. After completing the course, the students may apply for the license that the DGCA will grant. The engineer who can maintain, repair, and troubleshoot a straightforward aircraft fault will be eligible for the license.

B Program (4 Years)

A two-year academic program and a two-year practical program are required of the applicants. Airlines, MRO companies, and other organizations will hold live training sessions. The students might obtain the stipend while undergoing training. A licensed AME will be qualified to operate both in India and abroad in both the public and commercial sectors. The DGCA will grant the license. The mechanical stream for the B1 license will be in aviation. The components such as the Fuselage, Landing Gear, Wings, etc. are related to the mechanical stream. A B2 license will be required for the aircraft's avionics stream, in the meantime. The electronics system is connected to the avionics stream.

Which is better, AME or Aerospace Engineering?

If we see both of the courses and compare them, then the AME field is better. AME holds comparatively more scope in the perspective of a career and salary.
