The AIBE examination is typically held biannually, providing candidates with multiple opportunities to participate. There are no restrictions on the number of attempts a candidate can make to pass the AIBE exam. Therefore, if you did not succeed in qualifying for the AIBE in 2023, there's no need to worry. All candidates who achieve scores exceeding the AIBE 18 cutoff marks will receive a Certificate of Practice (COP) from the Bar Council of India, and this certificate holds a lifetime validity. The BCI will also publish a merit list comprising the names of successful AIBE exam takers in 2023.
However, candidates who do not meet the minimum cutoff marks for AIBE XVIII (18) will need to participate in the subsequent AIBE examination to secure their Certificate of Practice (COP).
For candidates who want to apply for online rechecking of their AIBE answer sheet, the council provides a link. Only candidates whose result status is "Fail" may apply for the rechecking process.
The BCI makes the rechecking form available on its official website. Candidates applying online must send the completed re-checking application form in the attached format, along with a demand draft for Rs. 200 made payable to the Bar Council of India and payable in New Delhi.
The Certificate of Practice, also known as the COP, is a certification given to law graduates who have passed the All India Bar Examination (AIBE). In India, the certification is required to practice in a court of law. The COP is issued within three months after the declaration of AIBE results.
