Eligibility Criteria for Ahimsa Fellowship 2025

The important requirements are mentioned below:

  1. Graduation Degree: In any discipline, candidates must have a graduate degree.
  2. Communication Skills: Applicants must be good speakers and writers. [English and a regional language (preferred)]
  3. Age Criteria: Applicants must be between 21 and 39 years old as on 31 December 2025.
  4. Availability: Be available to attend the entire 8-month duration of the Fellowship programme

Application Procedure for Ahimsa Fellowship 2025

The process to apply is simplified below:

Sign up and create an account to access the Fellowship Dashboard.

Stage 1 – Application Form

Go to theFellowship Registration section on the dashboard, which has 5 sub-sections starting withPersonal Information. Each section must be filled completely before saving (partial saves are not allowed). After completing the form,lock and submit it for evaluation.

Stage 2 – Personal Interview

Applicants who clear Stage 1 will see an update on their Fellowship Dashboard. They will be invited for avirtual personal interview.

Stage 3 – Online Assessment

Candidates who pass the interview will receivedetails about the online assessment. Instructions will be shared directly with the shortlisted applicants.

Stage 4 – Panel Interview

Successful candidates from the online assessment will be invited for afinal panel interview. Those who clear this stage will be offered a place inCohort 5 (2025–26), subject tocompletion of documentation formalities.

How are Applicants Selected?

The selection involves multiple stages and aspects.

  1. First of all, applicant form is examined minutely and assessed to verify for credibility.
  2. There is a virtual interview if your application form and details are correct after examination.
  3. If you successfully clear the interview, there will be an online task for you to do.
  4. At the final stage, there will be an interview with a panel of experts.

What are Residential Contact Classes for Ahimsa Fellowship?

You have to attend the 10 Days Residential Contact Classes. Team Ahimsa Fellowship will take care of your travel and accommodation.

We'll have 3 to 4 sets of these contact classes and group assignments over the 8 months of the program.

Fellows should use what they learn in the online and contact classes. You’ll have different assignments, like fieldwork, writing reports, working with local authorities, and organizing small online or offline campaigns and events in your city during the last quarter.

The Ahimsa Fellowship is a full-time program for those committed to making the most of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much time in a day will I dedicate for it, if selected?

This is a full-time Fellowship program. Fellows should plan to spend at least 6 hours a day, Monday to Saturday, though the hours might change each day.

Can I take time off during the Fellowship?

The Ahimsa Fellowship is a serious commitment. If you need to take a day off for personal reasons, it’ll be looked at individually. Just make sure to give notice ahead of time.

Do I need to work in contact with animals?

There is no direct animal care or sheltering involved in the Fellowship. The fellows will collaborate with district administrations and state governments to help put animal welfare legislation and policies into effect. Therefore, via advocacy work, Fellows will contribute to improving animal life circumstances.

Can I join the Ahimsa Fellowship on a part-time basis or for only 6 months?

No, only those who are prepared to dedicate themselves to the entire eight-month period are eligible to apply.

Is there a provision for study material to be provided?

Indeed. The Fellows will receive extensive study materials. Additionally, they will participate in the Advance Diploma in Animal Protection Laws program at NALSAR University.
