Best place to walk-in with all your heart and soul. 3/5

For getting admission into THAPAR, you have to give JEE MAIN and the seat is allotted as per your rank. Besides, it has some seats reserved for students under sports quota and also for J&K and NE students having separate cut off for students of Punjab state and rest of India. Typical cut off for the civil branch is usually about 70-80.
Faculty 4.5/5

The teachers of this institution are very much qualified, knowledgeable as well as helpful. If any student approaches them, they surely listen to them and solve their query. Also, there is no problem regarding lack of teachers of any subject. Electronic media is used sometimes, but it's not so helpful as it seems to be, and the student has to put their own effort in order to get into their subject of interest as the college is recruiting more and more students each year. The course curriculum is useful and they cover a variety of syllabus, so as to get the student, exposure of all the things related to that or nearby it

The admission at Thapar University is done on the basis of JEE MAIN score. To apply for BTech courses a person must have scored at least 20% in JEE MAIN exam i.e. 72 marks. Some seats are reserved for backward classes and there is a quota for students of Punjab also. For the admission, you need to apply online and there are 4 rounds of online counsellings and after that In-person counseling to fill the vacant seats. I scored 95 in JEE MAIN (2015) and at the time of In-person counseling I was offered a seat in Chemical, Meta Production, Software, Electronics Instrumentation, and Electrical. I took admission in Electrical stream.
Faculty 4.5/5

The faculty at Thapar University is experienced and they alongside course completion, share their technical experience with students. Mostly teachers are strict regarding the attendance criteria. To sit in end semester exams a student needs to attend more than 75% classes per subject. Also, the exams test theoretical as well as practical knowledge of students. The questions in the exam are from the syllabus that is covered in the class. The books and topics of a particular subject are described in the course scheme which is on the college site. With the aim to provide world class education, an academic agreement was signed between Thapar University and Trinity College.

Best University in terms of Education and Facility. 3/5

Admission is done on the basis of 12th board marks and with JEE mains score. Its not like that you have to clear JEEmains to take admission in thapar but you just need to have 20%score in Mains exam.
Faculty 4.5/5

Academics is good in Thapar university. All classes are engaged in time. Each student is required to keep his attendance record above 75% to prevent detention from that subject. Some Professors are really good and helpful and most professors can be easily accessed outside the classroom.Classes are engaged from 8-5 but actual schedule may vary from branch to branch. We have a CGPA system here (some college also follow % system). At the end of the semester students can also rate the quality and methodology of teaching by filling a SRS(Student Response Survey)

Reasons why I chose this College. 4/5

No particular entrance exam is there , you just have to score good marks close to the cut off from JEE Mains to get into Electrical or civil or chemical engineering, but for computer science, electronics , mechanical you need to score a little bit higher and also you must have a minimum of 60% aggregate in PCM in your respective board examination.
Faculty 4.5/5

When you are in 11th and 12th you expect teachers to explain you each and every thing but getting into this college that is not exactly the case here, as teachers are busy. But you can still meet the teachers at the time given by them. Teachers are highly qualified with everyone having a Ph.D. degree from an IIT or other prestigious colleges.

The faculty is highly qualified with nice work experience. You will also have elective courses where you can learn something out of the syllabus of your branch. New courses like electronics and computer provide a nice platform for doing MS mechatronics in foreign which has a good scope in future.

The thapar culture as we call it is an experience of lifetime. While preparing for the competitive exams everyone seems to forget their talents and interests. The college helps to revive them. From the very first day one can see the change. From the infrastructure to the crowd all is just extraordinary at thapar. From innumerable socities, events and workshops one can gather all he knowledge , required is just the zeal to participate. The campus is spread in a huge area of 250 acres with greenery all over it and the infrastructure is even better than some of the top NIT's. The placements are also well at here with 96% placements ratio and packages as high as 40 lakhs. The average package for CS placements stand at 8-9 lakhs.
