Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU) formerly known as Kanpur University is a public state university and was established in the year of 1966. It is recognized by UGC and accredited with an NAAC ‘B’ grade. The university has 952 affiliated colleges spread across 15 districts in the state. The university offers undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in the disciplines of arts, commerce, science, and medicine among others.

Kanpur University Admission to courses is done through merit-basis and entrance examinations. CSJM University, in particular, administers entrance exams such as JEE Main, NEET, JEECUP, and GATE for interested students. The application process for CSJMU Kanpur admission is conducted online, requiring candidates to complete the CSJMU application form for the specific course. CSJMU Admission 2024: Application Process
For CSJM University admissions, follow the steps mentioned below:
- Interested candidates are required to register through the CSJMU official website, i.e., csjmu.ac.in. This portal serves as the central hub for admission to any of the programs offered at the University’s campus or its affiliated colleges.
- Once registration is complete, candidates are required to select their desired faculty/program along with their preferred campus/college, whether it be in the fields of Science, Arts, Commerce, Management, or any other relevant discipline.
- Subsequently, the respective Departments and colleges will oversee the completion of the admission process, which includes the essential step of document verification.
Admission into CSJM University or its affiliated colleges will be granted based on the availability of seats and the fulfillment of eligibility criteria. It is important to note that any admission secured through fraudulent means, such as false information or counterfeit academic documents, will result in immediate cancellation of the admission.
At the undergraduate level, students will have the opportunity to choose three major subjects, of which two must be from the selected faculty, while the third major subject can either come from the chosen faculty or any other faculty, provided that the college offers such options and has the necessary resources. Additionally, in the first four semesters, students must select one minor subject from a different faculty, and the allocation of minor subjects will be determined by seat availability.
Every undergraduate student is required to opt for a vocational course during the first four semesters. The specific vocational courses to be taken will be determined by the Principal of the college or the Vice Chancellor.
At the postgraduate level, students will select one major subject and an elective paper in the first year. This elective paper can be chosen from any other faculty, and, similar to the undergraduate level, options for elective papers will be determined by the offerings of the college and the availability of seats.

College Description
Faculty: All are the pass outs of IIT Kanpur and that ads to their quality of teaching.
Placement: Only 3-4 companies came their and they all were new there was no MNC’s
College: This is a government university in the city when I cleared the UPSEE Examination I was searching for the government college but in my city, there was only one government college and there were limited seats were present there and later I got chance to study here and I have taken admission here on the basis of UPSEE Result
From 2012 to 2016 I have studied here and done BTech in electrical engineering.
