About BITS Pilani
Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani: It is the Top-Rated private institution in India. The institution was founded in 1964 by the late Mr. G.D Birla, who was an eminent industrialist. In the initial state, the institute was a regional engineering college which was later transformed into a deemed university under the UGC Act of 1956.
The student-faculty ratio at BITS Pilani is 7.9, and the academic system has three tiers.
Level 1 programs include Integrated First Degree BE, BPharma, and MSc. BITS Pilani conducts BITSAT for the flagship BE program, and the BITSAT Cutoff for 2023 is projected to remain around 270 marks. BITS Pilani also provides direct admission to state board toppers. State board toppers with PCM courses are offered direct admission to the BE Program under this scheme. Candidates who have passed the PCB state board test are allowed immediate admission to the BPharma program. The first-year tuition for BITS Pilani’s flagship BE program is around 5.42 lakhs.
According to the NIRF 2023 Rankings, BITS Pilani is also placed among the top 20 universities in India. BITS Pilani is ranked third in India in the NIRF 2024 Pharmacy Rankings. BITS Pilani has a strong record of placement. BITS Pilani has completed the 2023 placement campaign with a 31.5% rise in the Average Package and a 35% increase in the Highest Package. The highest Salary was INR 60.75 LPA, and the Average Package was INR 30.37 LPA. BITS Pilani Placements 2024 attracted 109 recruiters. Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Visa, Adobe, and Cisco were among the Top Recruiters.

BITS Pilani Admission
The BITS Pilani Admissions to the integrated first-degree courses and higher degree courses are made through a computer-based online test called BITSAT. BITS Pilani is the first institute in India to have conducted an online entrance test. CAT/GMAT score the entrance to an MBA program in BITS-Pilani. BITS-Pilani has a No-reservation policy in admissions.
About BITSAT: BITSAT is conducted by the BITS-Pilani mainly for shortlisting students for the B.E (Hons.) course. It is a computer-based online exam which is conducted online. it is an exam in which the students have to sit in front of a computer at the exam centre which is connected to a server and answer the respective questions. Unlike the pen-paper which is conducted in a single day, the BITSAT exam is conducted for a period, and the student has to choose a date of his/her choice and appear for the exam on the selected date. The nature of the questions in BITSAT is in the form of multiple options and is displayed on the screen of the computer. The candidate has to mark the right answer among the given options. There are a total of 150 questions of maximum 486 marks to be completed in a total 3-hour duration without a break. Each correct answer marked by the candidate fetches +3 marks and each wrong answer marked by the candidate costs -1 mark. There is no marking for any skipped question by the candidate.

BITSAT Eligibility
There are some Eligibility Criteria to appear forthe BITSAT Exam
- The student has to pass the 10+2 board exam from a recognized central or state board or its equivalent with Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics subjects and with adequate proficiency in the English language.
- The student must have individually passed Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with a minimum aggregate percentage of 75% with at least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects.
- There are only two attempts available for the students to appear in the BITSAT exam and the attempts must be given just after completing 10+2 in the consecutive year.
BITSAT Application Form
BITSAT online application forms are available in the month of January every year. The candidate can register online to fill out the application form at the official website of BITS-Pilani. A candidate can also make changes to the application form anytime before submitting the form and before the final date of submitting the form is over by logging into the account. The whole admission process ends in the month of June.
The mode of payment of the fee is online, but the candidate can choose to pay the fee offline through Cash Challan made in favour of BITS-Pilani. The candidates can take the printout of the online application form and the payment receipt for future reference.

- Create an account and complete the application form.
- Upload scanned copies of all relevant documents.
- Pay the application fees.
- Submit your application form.
- BITS Pilani application fees are as follows: General category: INR 2500 SC/ST/PWD Category: INR 1250.
BITSAT Syllabus and Exam Pattern
BITSAT Exam Pattern is based on the 11th and 12th NCERT syllabi. Though a high level of questions are asked in the exam, the candidate can take NCERT books as a base and can prepare accordingly. The online question paper is divided into four parts through which the questions are formed. The four parts consist of the following things-
- Part 1- Physics (40 questions)
- Part 2- Chemistry (40 questions)
- Part 3- Part 3 is subdivided into the following 2 sections
- English Proficiency (15 questions)
- Logical Reasoning (10 questions)
- Part 4- Mathematics (45 questions)
Once the candidate has attempted all 150 questions before the completion of time, the candidate is then given the option to attempt 12 extra in the remaining time left. The extra questions are given from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics parts only.

BITS Pilani Placements 2025 has been conducted for MBA batch 2025. The average package of Bits Pilani for the year 2025 stood at INR 14.63 LPA. BITS Pilani WILP (Work Integrated Learning Programs) are technical continuing education courses designed for working professionals and industries. WILP started with just 30 students in 1979 and now has over 30,000 professionals enrolled. The WILP is supported by around 1000 faculty members at the institute.
