The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has launched a mock test facility on its official website to help candidates familiarise themselves with the format and interface of upcoming computer-based examinations (CBTs), the Commission announced on July 18.
According to the SSC notification, the mock test is designed solely for familiarisation purposes. It helps students get used to an online setting before the actual test happens. However, the sample-based and sometimes repeated questions on the mock test are not representative of the actual exam content, and the structure may be different from the real exam.
SSC has emphasised that the mock test should not be considered a practice paper or a simulation of the actual test. Instead, candidates are advised touse the facility simply to become comfortable navigating the CBT interface.
The mock link is available on the SSC website at ssc.gov.in, and all candidates are encouraged to review examination-specific notifications and monitor the SSC portal regularly for updates.
The mock tests are now accessible for several important upcoming SSC exams scheduled as per the 2025–26 calendar:
- Selection Post Examination, Phase XIII: July 24–31, and August 1, 2025
- Stenographer Grade C & D Examination: August 6–11, 2025
- Combined Hindi Translators Examination: August 12, 2025
- Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL): August 13–30, 2025
Additionally, the SSC has opened mock testing for current selection exams, including Selection Post Examination/Phase XIII and the ongoing MTS, Havaldar 2025 sessions.
The Commission also recently closed the online application window for the SSC CGL2025, which included 14,582Group B and C openings. In previous years, vacancies stood at 18,174 (2024), 8,415 (2023), and 37,409 (2022).
In conclusion, SSC's new mock exam function provides an excellent opportunity for applicants to familiarize themselves with the computer-based platform ahead of time. However, applicants should be aware that the experience and questions may not perfectly mimic the actual tests and should continue to prepare adequately.
