NMIMS Hosts 22nd Convocation Ceremony with Honored Guests & Glistening Achievements

Celebrating the Future: NMIMS achieves yet another milestone with its 22nd Convocation

SVKM's NMIMS, India's tallest educational tower, recently organized its 22nd Convocation Ceremony, celebrating the academic success of graduates of its MBA, MBA (Human Resources), and MBA (Pharmaceutical Management) programs. This day of triumph was not merely a triumph of academic success but was also a testament to the one-pointed commitment of NMIMS to creating leaders who can construct a brighter and more fulfilling future.

Convocation Venue: A Symbol of Splendour - A Reflection of Prestige

Convocations were held in the well-ranked Mukesh R. Patel Auditorium in Mumbai, an organization that has been running on the shoulders of scholastic achievement for years now. On 10th April 2025, MBA (HR) and MBA (Pharmaceutical Management) programs convocations were held, while the flagship MBA program convocation was pursued on 12th April 2025.

Esteemed Guests and Distinguished Dignitaries

MBA (HR) and MBA (Pharmaceutical Management) convocation was honored by the presence of Mr. Jagrut Kotecha, CEO of PepsiCo India and South Asia, as Chief Guest. The Guest of Honour was Ms. Renu Sud Karnad, Chairperson of the Board of Directors, GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd. The Chief Guest for the flagship MBA program was Mr. Sandeep Ghosh, VISA Group Country Manager, India, and South Asia. The Hon'ble Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, participated virtually as Guest of Honour, introducing the governmental acknowledgment and ratification element required for these Awards.

Academic Leadership Participants

NMIMS's academic leadership, Smt. Sri Pravin Doshi and Smt. Sneha A. Parekh, Honourable Chancellor Nominees, had the honor of presiding over the ceremony. Vice Chancellor, NMIMS, Dr. Ramesh Bhat, and Pro Vice Chancellors, Dr. Meena Chintamaneni and Dr. Sharad Mhaiskar played an active role in the ceremony. The event was graced by Dr. Tanmoy Chakraborty, Registrar; Dr. Justin Paul, Provost for Management Education and Dean, SBM NMIMS; and Deans, Directors, and faculty members of all the schools of the university. 

Ceremonial Highlights

The convocation ceremony started with ceremonial lamp lighting, a centuries-old ritual practice symbolizing the quest for knowledge and victory of wisdom. Sri Pravin Doshi and Smt. Sneha A. Parekh formally inaugurated the convocation ceremonies for the first time, bestowing pompous ceremonies with tradition and respect.

Honouring Excellence: Awards & Accolades

Award and degree conferral were included in the convocation ceremony for students from all three MBA programs. The awards were presented to the award students to recognize their performance, leadership, and success. The awards not only became a badge of honor but also motivated the graduating students on the threshold of reaching the next phase of professional life.

Distinguished Alumni Awarded

In a sincere admiration of the fraternity of the alumni, NMIMS awarded two distinguished alumni for their unparalleled achievements in their business streams.

Mr. Yogesh Patgaonkar, batch mate of 1993 and Chief People Officer, Persistent Systems, was awarded for exploring to become a master leadership man in the field of HR. Ms. Kausalya Nandakumar, 2005 Batch Alumna and erstwhile Chief Operating Officer, Mahindra Electric Automotive Ltd., was also recognized as one of the first movers of electric vehicles.
