With the release of the final results for its MBA 2025–27 class, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur signaled a dramatic change in its admissions strategy. Departing from the Common Admission Process (CAP), the institute has adopted an independent selection framework aimed at enhancing inclusivity, academic rigor, and industry alignment.
The new system involved shortlisting individuals based on their CAT 2024 results, then conducting in-person interviews and group discussions in eight cities: Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Bengaluru, New Delhi, Guwahati, and Raipur. This strategy, which was put into effect from February 10 to March 9, 2025, was intended to increase the institute's visibility and attract a diverse pool of applicants.
One unique aspect of the redesigned admissions process was the inclusion of industry professionals with at least ten years of experience on interview panels, in addition to faculty members. This program sought to assess participants' leadership potential, flexibility, and problem-solving abilities to ensure alignment with actual business demands.
A testament to IIM Raipur's dedication to diversity is the fact that 62% of the students in the 2022–2024 cohort were female. The institute aims to prioritize gender diversity and aims to maintain this trend in future admissions.
The fee structure for the 2025–27 MBA program has been updated, with the first-year fee set at INR 10.59 lakh, reflecting an increase from the previous year's INR 9.61 lakh.This change covers housing, tuition, student associations' fees, and other expenses.
IIM Raipur is ranked among the top IIMs in the nation based on placements, with the 2022–2024 batch seeing the highest package of INR 42.29 lakh annually and an average package of INR 18.15 lakh.
