About the Internship
This internship provides students with hands-on exposure to real-world medical coding practices used in hospitals, healthcare companies, and insurance sectors. Interns will be trained on ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding frameworks while working on case-based assignments to understand professional healthcare documentation.Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Learn and understand ICD-10-CM, CPT & HCPCS coding guidelines.
2. Work on real-time case sheets, patient records, and documentation samples.
3. Assist in converting medical diagnoses, procedures, and treatments into standardized codes.
4. Support coding audits and help review documentation accuracy.
5. Participate in weekly training sessions, assessments, and project submissions.
6. Collaborate with trainers and team members on coding-related tasks.
