What is OUAT Entrance Exam ?

The Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) was established in the year 1962 under the provisions of the Orissa Act, 20 of 1961 and has the triple functions of teaching, research and extension education. The University offers education at the undergraduate and post-graduate levels in Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Fishery Science, Home Science & Forestry in the semester system. Research and Extension programmes are carried out at the Regional Research & Technology Transfer Station (RRTTS) and/or Sub-stations/Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) located in different parts of the state.

OUAT Entrance Exam 2020 Eligibility

Candidates awaiting their results of +2 Science/equivalent examination are also eligible to apply for appearing at the Common Entrance Examination for admission into the U.G. Courses, anticipating their success in the +2 Science/ equivalent Examination.

Candidate must have completed 17 years of age by 31.12.2017

OUAT Entrance Exam 2020 Application Procedure

Students must have applied on this website link: www.ouat.nic.in or https://www.lokaseba-odisha.in beginning from 01.04.2017 to 10.05.2017.

The candidate is required to pay INR 1050 as application fees to the university apart from bank charges that are specified by the bank by online mode of payment. Payment in cash can also be done through the Common Service Center. 

The candidate should take a printout of the computer generated application form with payment details which would be retained by the candidate for future correspondence. Submission of application would be done after payment is done. 

The three steps in applying are as follows:

  1. The online application form needs to be filled.
  2. You can make payment by way of an online application. 
  3. You can take a printout of the application form for future reference. 


The candidate would be able to apply through Common Service Centre located at the nearest area. The payment can be done through cash and a printout of application form with payment details should be retained. 

Prior to filling up the application form, the student must do the following:

  1. The recent colour passport photo of the candidate
  2. The complete signature of the candidate
  3. Only jpeg/jpg format requires to be used for the picture that requires to be uploaded.

Application Fees

The application costs 1050 INR besides the bank charges depending on the mode of payment –credit/debit card/net banking

The candidate can also submit the form online and pay in cash at the nearest Jan Seva  Kendra

After payment, the candidate can take a printout of the Form A application which has to be retained.

OUAT Entrance Exam 2020 Preparation Tips

There is no pre-determined syllabus to prepare for the OUAT exam. The syllabus and preparation for NEET/JEE would be applicable for OUAT exam preparation. This exam requires the student to have enough control on speed and maximize accuracy. You must follow the following tips:

  1. Read NCERT Preparatory material
  2. Previous year question banks can also be referred
  3. Arihant publications
  4. The reference books for PMT/JEE and question banks.

The entrance examination would be an objective multiple choice based question test for 200 marks for about 2 hours. The medium of the examination would be English. The subjects of the examination and marks distribution are mentioned as below.

Physics 66 marks

Chemistry 66 marks

Maths 68 marks

Candidates are required to do Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology.

OUAT Entrance Exam 2020 Exam Pattern

OUAT CET will be objective (multiple choice) test for 200 marks of two hours duration and medium of exam will be English. The subjects of examination and marks.
Physics - 66 marks
Chemistry - 66 marks
Mathematics / Biology - 68 marks
Total 200 marks.

Candidates are to answer Physics, Chemistry and either Mathematics or Biology.

OUAT Entrance Exam 2020 Syllabus

Admission to UG courses is by an entrance exam of 200 marks with questions from Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. Candidates have to attempt one subject out of mathematics and biology.

The syllabus is the same that is followed by NEET or JEE for these subjects .Candidates must be very thorough with the NCERT and state board books of these subjects at the +2 level.

OUAT Entrance Exam 2020 Result

The result will be announced in the second week of July 2017.

OUAT Entrance Exam 2020 Counseling Details

1) A common merit list and category wise merit list will be prepared separately based on the weighted scores of the candidates.Counselling will be based on the merit list only.

2)The intimation-cum-Rank card with the date and time of the counseling of selected candidates will be available in www.ouat.nic.in by clicking on a link “Download Intimation-cum-Rank Card for OUAT UG Admission, 2017-18” and entering Entrance Examination Roll number, Mobile Number and Date of Birth.

3) After the counseling if seats remain vacant , spot counseling from common merit list may be conducted to fill up the vacant seats.

4) Candidate who has taken admission in one course ,will not be allowed to change centre/course under any circumstances.

5) Candidate who fails to appear for the counselling will automatically and irrevocably forfeit their claim for admission.

  • The ICAR/VCI nominated candidates/Foreign Candidates/State Government sponsored candidates for admission against reserved seats are not required to appear at the Common Entrance Examination. They will be admitted as such against the Reserved Seats.
  • One seat will be made available for the Children of the Kashmir Migrants in each College. The candidate has to produce the domicile certificate from the District Magistrate, Govt. of J&K, in the Kashmir Division within whose jurisdiction his/her parents had ordinarily resided during 1st January, 1980 and 31st December, 1989 by five years
  • Two percent  of total seats in each college will be reserved for ward of OUAT employees (both working and retired) over and above the intake capacity on cost sharing basis. 
  • Twenty five (25) seats are reserved for NRI Candidate for admission into U.G. Courses 
  • For pass out students of Diploma in Agro-Polytechnic Course of OUAT, 10% of the intake capacity of respective streams of Diploma in Agro-Polytechnic Course are kept reserved in different UG Courses, 
  • A separate Entrance Test of multiple choice questions in English Medium will be conducted carrying 200 marks of two hours duration from their respective AgroPolytechnic syllabus.

Documents to be Carried

Candidates selected for admission are required to produce the following documents at the time of counseling-cum-admission.


a) Intimation letter –cum-rank card.

b) Downloaded application Form-B.

c) Mark sheets and pass certificate of H.S.C/ S.S.C./Equivalent from the Board of Secondary Education / CBSE/ICSC as the case may be.

d) Mark sheets and pass certificate of +2 Science from CHSE/ CBSE/ ICSC/ equivalent.

e) C.L.C. and Conduct Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended.

f) Migration Certificate from the University / Board of last attended.

g) SC/ST/Green Card /Physically Handicapped certificate from the competent authority for the respective reserved category 

. h) In case of NRI Candidates, all the documents

 Passport of the sponsor. iii) Visa/Permanent residential certificate of the sponsor. iv) Residential proof of sponsor (electric bill, telephone bill, water bill etc.)

i) Certificate as proof of OUAT employee from Head of the Office (Annexure –IV ).

j) Medical Fitness Certificate in prescribed Form 

k) Certificate towards discontinuation of study in specified format 

) Residential certificate (Except for students who studied Odia as a subject in 10th standard 

m) Permanent Residential Certificate for Western Odisha candidate.

n) Aadhaar Card.

o) Permission Letter from the employer in case of an in-service candidate.

p) 5 passport size photograph as uploaded in Form-A.

Without submission of above relevant documents in original and self-attested photocopies by the candidate at the time of counseling cum admission, his candidature will be canceled.
