The CMAT Eligibility criteria would prescribe minimum qualification marks a candidate would be required to possess to get admitted into MBA and PGDM programs across the country. The National Testing Agency (NTA) would be responsible for the creation of criteria for which candidates would be allowed to take CMAT. The CMAT Application process would begin on 1st November 2019 and would be ending on 30th November 2019.

CMAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria comprise of 2 major requirements i.e. CMAT Eligibility Requirements. The primary half within the CMAT Eligibility criteria is to appear in CMAT 2020 Examination on 24th January 2020 and the secondary half of CMAT 2020 Eligibility is that the post CMAT Examination eligibility with cut offs required by every CMAT 2020 score accepted by management institutes approved by All India Council for Technical Education or National Testing Agency across the country with MBA/PGDM programs.

National Testing Agency (NTA), the CMAT 2020 Examination conducting authority has proclaimed the CMAT Eligibility Criteria and also the norms required to be eligible to take CMAT 2020 Examination. Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2020, is an entrance examination conducted across the country for admission to MBA programs to over 600 management institutes giving AICTE approved management programs. CMAT 2020 Examination is going to be conducted by National Testing Agency rather than All India Council for Technical Education.

The CMAT Eligibility criteria have been mentioned as below:

  • He/She must be a citizen of India.
  • Final year students who are from Bachelor programs should also apply.
  • Applicants should have a bachelor's degree for at least a duration of 3 years.
  • CMAT has no age bar for applying to the CMAT Entrance examination.

Candidates would be eligible for MBA and PGDM program once after meeting the eligibility criteria of the required program. The program wise eligibility criteria for CMAT has been detailed as below:

Other Eligibility Criteria for CMAT 2020 Examination

The highlights of CMAT Eligibility criteria is as follows:

  • As per the CMAT Eligibility criteria, the applicants must be a citizen of India.
  • There is no age limit for writing CMAT 2020.
  • Candidates who have a bachelor's Degree with 10+2+3 can apply for the program. The results of the final year of the undergraduate degree have been declared before the fulfillment of the admission formalities.
  • CMAT is an examination that is held for a duration of 3 hours and has the sections such as - Quantitative Technique and Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, General Awareness and Language Comprehension. The CMAT screens candidates for admission to the AICTE Programs offered in B schools and universities.

Age Limit to apply for CMAT 2020

CMAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria for General & Reserved class candidates outline totally different share of marks within the qualifying graduation degree. However, there's no age bar for either class of candidates for NTA CMAT 2020 Examination that is scheduled to be conducted in 2 shifts on 24th January 2020.

Key Points of CMAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria

CMAT eligibility doesn't impose any age bar limit for the candidates appearing in CMAT 2020 Examination.
Graduation Degree ought to be recognized by Universal Grants Commission, approved by All India Council for Technical Education, and recognized by Government of India.

The candidate applying for CMAT 2020 should fulfil one of the subsequent CMAT eligibility criteria 2020 given below:

A. Completed Bachelor's degree with the minimum required marks, or
B. Completed any professional degree such as CA/CS/ICWA with minimum marks defined by the NTA, or
C. Must be studying in final year of Bachelor's degree provided they can provide the officials with required minimum percentage of marks.

The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate would be calculated supported the observe as followed by the individual University/Institution.

  • In case of grades / CGPA, the conversion to share of marks would be supported the procedure as certified by the individual University/ establishment in accordance with the CMAT Examination eligibility criteria.
  • If any University/institution confirms that there's no chance for changing CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate's CGPA by the utmost obtained CGPA, and multiplying the result with a hundred as per the CMAT 2020 eligibility.

Note* Mere fulfilment of minimum CMAT eligibility criteria 2020 won't guarantee admission to listed B-schools.

Reservation Policy of CMAT 2020 Exam

1. Other Backward Categories (OBC–NCL) are as per the Central list of alternative Backward classes obtainable on National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC), Government of India web site ncbc.nic. Thus, the candidates falling under this list could mention OBC within the class column. State list OBC candidates UN agency isn't in OBC-NCL (Central List) should opt for General class.

2. Persons with disabilities (PwD) means that someone with not but 40% of a specific incapability wherever specific incapability has not been outlined in measurable terms. Such candidates have been outlined in measurable terms, as certified by the certifying authority. “Specified Disability” means that the disabilities as laid out in the Schedule of the RPwD Act 2016.

Each class would represent five type of reservation for Persons with Disabilities. Following are the categories of disability that could be considered:

  • Candidates who do not represent OBC-NCL class should opt for General.
  • Categories of disabilities (should not be but 40%) are as follows :
  • Deaf and unable of hearing
  • Autism, intellectual incapacity, specific learning disorder and psychological state
  • Blindness and low vision
  • Locomotor incapacity together with spastic paralysis, Hansen's disease cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and genetic defect
  • Multiple disabilities from amongst persons underneath clauses
