The National Institute of Technology Act of 2012, No. 28 of 2012, which is a continuation of the Principal Act (29 of 2007), created the Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) Nagpur as an Institute of National Importance.
Prior to that, it was known as Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering (VRCE), and it was founded in 1960 as part of a project supported by the governments of India and Maharashtra. The 214-acre campus of VNIT Nagpur is situated in the center of Nagpur City. The campus is situated around 7 kilometers from Nagpur Railway Station and 8 kilometers from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in the western region of the city, close to Ambazari Lake.

VNIT Nagpur B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering cutoff 2023 was 7869 for students from the General All India category. The same Round 1 closing rank was 5515. The Round 1 and Last Round closure cutoffs for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering at the VNIT Nagpur cutoff 2022 were 4760 and 6463 for the same category. When comparing the current year’s cutoff to the previous year’s, VNIT Nagpur saw an improvement in the B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering course. VNIT Nagpur cutoff 2023 for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering for Round 1 and the Last Round closing ranks were 5661 and 8122 for the Home State category students, respectively.

The VNIT Nagpur cutoff for 2023 was announced following the release of Round 8 of JoSSA Counselling. VNIT Nagpur JEE Mains cutoff 2023 was issued for a variety of specialisations, with B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering and B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering emerging as the most competitive due to their last round closing ranks. During the VNIT Nagpur cutoff 2023, the last round closing rank for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering was 7869, while it was 6463 in 2022 and 5126 in 2021 for the General All India category students. When the Round 8 closing rank for the last three years was examined, VNIT Nagpur saw a significant decline tendency for the B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering course. For the Home State General category, the VNIT Nagpur cutoff for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering in 2023 was 8122, while it was 6915 in 2022 and 6952 in 2021.
