About IIIT Delhi

It is also known as IIITD or Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi, was established in 2008 and welcomed its inaugural batch of 60 students. Situated in Okhla, the institute’s main campus is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). It is a state-level institute and holds membership in the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). IIITD has been accredited with Grade ’A’ by the NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council).

Funded by the Government of Delhi, IIITD enjoys both administrative and academic autonomy. In collaboration with IRISYS Corporation Limited from South Korea, the institute has established an R&D lab. Additionally, IIIT Delhi has entered into a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with UNIST to foster academic cooperation between the two institutes.

IIIT Delhi Admission

IIIT Delhi Admissions 2024 is highly competitive and primarily based on the JEE Mains score, followed by a separate counseling process. The institute also considers other factors like academic performance, entrance test scores, and interviews for certain programs. IIIT Delhi Admission process differs for Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Doctoral Courses. The admission criteria for the respective courses are as follows-

• For BTech course, the admissions will be taken on the basis of JEE Main scores. The counselling will be held the streams will be allocated on the basis of merit.
• For the MTech course, the admissions will be taken on the basis of the GATE (General Aptitude Exam in Engineering) exam. The specializations will be allocated to the students on the basis of merit. 
• For PhD courses, the admissions will be made on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the postgraduate course.

IIIT Delhi BTech Cutoff

The JEE Mains and JAC results are used to determine admission to the BTech program at IIIT Delhi. Only Delhi-based students with non-science backgrounds would be admitted to certain B.Tech (ITSS) seats based purely on their 10+2 grade point average. For Delhi-based candidates with a valid UCEED score, a limited number of B.Tech (CSD) seats are reserved.

On a global scale, the IIIT Delhi placed 351-400 in Asia according to the 2023 QS World University Rankings. According to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings of 2023, it was placed 601–800 globally,177 in Asia in 2022 and 188 among developing economies.
