The admission procedure varies from one program to the other. The institute offers PGP, PGPEX, PGPEX-VLM, PGDBA, and FPM programs at the postgraduate level. Candidates are shortlisted based on their academic performance, work experience, and extra-curricular activities. IIM Calcutta Executive MBA program is one of the most valuable programs of the institute. Admission to the Postgraduate Programs
For PGP (PGDM)
Candidates seeking admission to the PGP program are shortlisted based on their performance in CAT/GMAT and WAT. Candidates are required to hold a good academic performance and work experience.
- Admission to PGP is done based on candidates’ performance in CAT examination conducted at the national level.
- Candidates who qualify the examination are required to go through WAT and Personal Interview rounds conducted at the institute.
For PGPEX
Postgraduate Program in Management for Executives (PGPEX) is another Management program offered by IIM Calcutta.
- For admission to the PGPEX program, the candidates must hold a valid score in GMAT.
- The final shortlisting is done based on the candidates’ performance in GMAT examination followed by a personal interview round conducted at the institute.
For PGPEX-VLM
PGPEX-VLM program is particularly offered for working professionals. Admission to the program i.e. Visionary Leadership Management is done based on candidates’ performance in the qualifying examination along with work experience, and overall profile.
- The candidates are shortlisted based on their performance in the Aptitude Test followed by a personal interview round conducted at the institute.
For PGDBA
IIM Calcutta Courses include another program named as Postgraduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA). The institute conducts a written entrance test along with a personal interview rounds based on which the candidates are shortlisted.
- For admission to PGDBA, the candidates must hold a valid score in the Written Test along with Personal Interview round conducted by the institute.
*The written test consists of several question related to Verbal Ability, Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation & Data Visualization, and Quantitative Aptitude.
The written test and personal interview round can be conducted at one of the 5 centers of IIM. These centers are Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore, and Chennai.
For FPM
Fellow Program in Management (FPM) is offered under various specializations, thus offering students a pool of options to choose from.
- For admission to FPM, the candidates must hold a valid score in CAT examination conducted by one of the IIMs.
- Candidates with a valid score in GATE, GRE, GMAT, or UGC JRF are also eligible to apply for admission to FPM at IIM Calcutta.
The Application form for any of the programs offered by IIM Calcutta must be filled online. Candidates willing to pursue their career with IIMC must visit its official website and fill the application form. While filling the application form, the candidates must process the payment of INR 2000 (INR 1000 for SC/ST) as application fee.
The application fee for FPM program is INR 1000, and candidates belonging to reserved categories are not required to make any payment.
Candidates seeking admission to any of the programs offered by IIM Calcutta must ensure that they fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria defined by the institute.
Minimum Educational Qualification
- For admission to PGP, the candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in any field securing at least 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized university.
- For admission to PGPEX, the candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree. Besides, they must hold a post qualification experience of 5 years.
- Admission to PGPEX VLM requires a bachelor’s degree securing at least 60% marks in aggregate. The candidates must hold a relevant work experience as well.
- For admission to PGDBA, the candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in BS/B. Tech/BE securing at least 60% marks in aggregate.
- Candidates with an Integrated Master’s or B. Arch or MBBS degree with 60% marks in aggregate are also eligible to apply for admission to PGDBA.
- Admission to FPM requires a master’s degree in any field securing at least 60% marks in aggregate.
