One of the most promising colleges in the state of Assam and all of north-east India, Gauhati Commerce College offers business education at the Higher Secondary, Degree, and Post Graduate levels. It is located near the northernmost end of R.G. Barooah Road, Chandmari, Guwahati, 781021. The college was established on September 10th, 1962. The college initially only had 300 students enrolled, but over the years, it has grown to have an enrollment of over 3000 students and to be making excellent progress in all of its academic and extracurricular activities.
The college’s students have consistently performed admirably in the Higher Secondary, Undergraduate, and Postgraduate Examinations administered by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council and Gauhati University, respectively. Each year, they hold the top spots, and their pass percentage typically exceeds 80 and has even gone above 90 on a few occasions.
The college provides UG-level BBA and B. Com programs as well as PG-level MBA, M. Com, and PGDCA programs. Depending on the course, the admissions procedure may involve an entrance exam or be based on merit. The institution boasts a 45-person, highly qualified faculty and offers its students a range of amenities like a library, computer lab, theater, sports, etc.

- The institution offers courses in the fields of business and management at the Higher Secondary, Undergraduate, and Graduate levels.
The college’s main website has an online admissions system. Online registration and application filling are also options. You must also pay the application cost online and attach your supporting documentation. - Since the admission is merit-based, your eligibility for the course will be determined by your performance on the prior qualifying examination. On its website, the college posts draft merit lists and requests applicants’ concerns. The final merit lists are issued following the resolution of the objections, and the chosen applicants are contacted for admission.
- The HS First Year admittance announcement was released on 07-06-2023. The final day to submit an online application was June 15, 2023. On 12-06-2023, a draft merit list for the BBA program was released. Other course dates have not yet been released.
Gauhati Commerce College Eligibility
Gauhati Commerce College Eligibility is given below:
B.Com: Candidates who have finished their 10+2 in the fields of commerce, the arts, or science are eligible to apply.
BBA: Applicants for the BBA program must have finished their 10+2 in the fields of business, the arts, or science or possess a diploma in engineering with a minimum GPA of 40%.
M.Com: Applicants for the M.Com program must have earned a B.Com degree.
MBA: Candidates from any discipline who have earned their diploma are eligible to apply for the MBA program. They must also take the university’s entrance exam, which is followed by a round of group discussions and individual interviews.
PGDCA: Applicants for the PGDCA course must have earned their bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
