Bajkul Milani Mahavidyalaya, established in 1964, is a government institution accredited with a NAAC Grade B rating. It is approved by the UGC and is affiliated with Vidyasagar University in Midnapore. The college offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in arts and science. For postgraduate courses, admission is based on the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the college. Admission to undergraduate programs is merit-based.
Bajkul Milani Mahavidyalaya, Medinipur UG Courses Admission 2023
Bajkul Mahavidyalaya offers a wide range of full-time B.A. and B.Sc. courses, each with a duration of three years, and all programs are affiliated with Vidyasagar University. The selection process for candidates is entirely merit-based, relying on their performance in the Class 12 examinations.
The application process is conducted online, and subsequent to applications, the college compiles a merit list for both general and honors degree programs. Shortlisted candidates are then required to participate in a counseling session and complete their admissions on a specified date. Admissions are confirmed only upon the payment of the requisite fees through offline modes.
Eligibility criteria for Honors courses dictate that candidates must have successfully passed their Class 12 examinations or an equivalent qualification from any recognized State and Central Boards/Councils of India. Merit for Honors courses is determined by considering 10% of the total marks obtained in the best five subjects, which must include English and either Bengali or Hindi (excluding Environmental Studies), along with the marks achieved in the specific subject for which admission is sought.
Bajkul Milani Mahavidyalaya, Medinipur - PG Courses Admission 2023
At the postgraduate (PG) level, Bajkul Milani Mahavidyalaya offers three regular courses with a duration of two years. The admission process for these programs is as follows:
Admission Criteria:
- For 60% of Total Seats: Admission will be based solely on the merit of candidates in the final B.A (H)/B.Sc (H) examinations conducted by Vidyasagar University. A merit list is prepared from among the candidates from VU.
- For Remaining 40% of Seats: Admissions will be conducted under open competition. This category considers 50% of the merit in the PG Entrance Examination conducted by the college and 50% of the merit in the final B.A (H)/B.Sc (H) examinations. Candidates from other universities can apply under this category.
PG Courses Offered:
M.A with Specializations in Sanskrit, Bengali, and Geography
- Eligibility: A B.A (Hons) degree with a minimum of 45% for general candidates and 40% for reserved category candidates.
- Selection Process:
- Merit-based for seats under Vidyasagar University.
- Entrance and merit-based for seats under open competition.
M.Sc with a Specialization in Geography
- Eligibility: A B.Sc (Hons) degree with a minimum of 50% for general candidates and 45% for reserved category candidates.
- Additional Requirements for Entrance Test Applicants:
- Candidates applying for the entrance test must have secured a minimum of 45% marks in B.A (for M.A) and 50% in B.Sc (for M.Sc).
- A relaxation of 5% is granted to reserved category candidates.
3. Selection Process: Admission for both categories will involve separate counseling sessions, and final admission will be granted after the payment of the requisite fee.
