MAT Exam Day Instructions 2025
- Please arrive at the exam centre at least 60 minutes before the report time stated on your admit card.
- You need to take your printed MAT admit card and a valid photo Id proof
- Two passport-sized photographs (the same as uploaded at the time of registration) need to be taken.
- Mobile phones, calculators, smart watches or any other electronic devices should not be carried.
- Stationery items - pen, pencil, eraser - need to be carried for PBT mode only.
- For CBT mode, all rough work should be done on the scratch sheet provided.
- Wear loose and comfortable clothes according to exam instructions.
- If COVID-19 rules (if any) are in force, make sure to follow them - wear a mask, use sanitiser, etc.
- Do not indulge in malpractices during the exam, or you might be disqualified.
- Pay close attention to the invigilator's instructions and do not start the test before you are told.
- Make sure your biometric authentication (if required) is done before you enter the exam hall.
- You may only leave the exam hall after handing over your test with instructions from the invigilator.
MAT 2025 Exam Pattern
- The exam has 200 multiple-choice questions.
- The exam duration is 150 minutes (2.5 hours).
- The exam has 5 sections of 40 questions each:
- Language Comprehension
- Intelligence and Critical Reasoning
- Mathematical Skills
- Data Analysis and Sufficiency
- Indian and Global Environment
- Each question is worth 1 mark.
- You received a -0.25 for every incorrect answer.
- Each section has equal weighting; however, the first four sections are included in the percentile calculation.
- The score for the Indian and Global Environment does not factor into your percentile calculation.
- There are no section time limits, so you may skip between the sections.
- Exams can be taken in PBT (Paper-Based), CBT (Computer-Based), or IBT (Internet-Based Test).
