Can an Average CUET UG Score Get You a Top College?

The CUET UG (Common University Entrance Test) has become the primary entry route to top central and participating universities in India, including Delhi University (DU), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), University of Hyderabad, and others. More than 13.5 lakh students appeared for the CUET UG 2025 so competition for top colleges is tough. To pursue admission into top colleges like St. Stephen's, Hindu College, and Miranda House through CUET UG 2025, students will be required to obtain at least a percentile of 98 to 99. Students must note that these required percentiles may vary based on the course opted by them.

There are several private universities and institutions that offer even lower cutoffs based on student's category and other crucial factors. Thus, even an average of lower score can provide students with a chance to pursue their desired program in their desired institute. Candidates who have obtained an average overall score can try various alternate options. Strategic course selection, category-wise reservation, and studying trends over previous years are key to increasing your chances.

What is the Minimum Qualifying CUET Score?

A good CUET score for DU is based on various factors like target course, target college, category, reservation criteria, competition level, seat intake and more. There is no specific digit to determine an average or minimum CUET UG score; however, marks above 320 - 360 are considered minimum qualifier for DU colleges and competitive programs.
