About Vellore Institute of Technology - VIT University, Vellore
Vellore Institute of Technology also known as VIT University is a deemed University one of the most sought-after private engineering University in India. VIT University was founded in the year 1984 by the name Vellore Engineering College under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956. Later in the year 2001, the institute was granted the University status by the UGC (University Grants Commission). At the initial stages, VIT only provided the technical education programmes to the students, but later when the institute got the University status, other undergraduate and post-graduate programmes were also started. VITEEE Eligibility-
-
The candidate should have passed the 10+2 from central, state board or other board recognized by the government of India.
-
The candidate must have passed 10+2 with subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology.
-
The aggregate percentage of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology in 10+2 must be at least 50% for SC/ST candidates and must be 60% for other category candidates.
-
The candidates who studied Biology instead of Mathematics in 10+2 are eligible for the admissions in B.Tech Biotechnology, B.Tech Bio-Medical Engineering, B.Tech Bioinformatics and Computer Science engineering streams only.

VITEEE Result and Counselling-
VITEEE exam is conducted every year in the month of April, and the VITEEE result is also tentatively declared by the end of the April. After the results, the Counselling gets started in the month of May.

VITMEE: Vellore Institute of Technology Master's Entrance Exam is conducted every year for the admissions in the M.Tech and MCA programmes in VIT Vellore. To appear for VITMEE Exam, the candidate has to pass the graduate degree with at least 50% aggregate marks.

VITREE: Vellore Institute of Technology Research Entrance Exam is conducted by VIT Vellore for the admissions in Ph.D. and M.Phil courses. To appear for VITREE exam, the candidate must have scored at least 60% marks aggregate in the Post-graduation.

Management Entrance: VIT Vellore offers MBA programme in its VIT Business School (Vellore) for which the candidate must have at least a 60% score in the graduation. The admission in the MBA programme in VIT University is taken from the marks scored by the candidates in CAT/CMAT/XAT/GMAT/MAT/NMAT.
