Sardar Patel University Details

Sardar Patel University (SPU) is a public university situated in the town of Vallabh Vidyanagar in the Anand district, Gujrat. The University is named after the first Home Minister of Independent India Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The University was established in the year 1955 by an act of the state legislature. SPU is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

 The University has completed more than 56 years contributing in the education sector offering a spectrum of graduate and postgraduate courses. SPU uses modern methods of teaching such as audio-visual aids and visits to industries for practical exposure apart from the stapled teaching methods.

A total of  87 colleges are affiliated to the SP University. Offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses like MBBS, B.Tech, BBA etc.

1) Hotel Facilities-

  • There are separate hostels for boys and girls at the University Campus.
  • There are total seven hostels in the campus.
  • Some hostels are allotted to the students of some particular course.

2) Library-

  • The campus has a library called Bhaikaka Library.
  • The library comprises of a collection of Books, Journals, Theses, Bound Volumes, Maps, Pamphlets, Dissertations and other non-book materials.
  • The Library has a seating capacity of over 700 and has a separate seating arrangement for the girls.
