Chettinad Academy of Research and Education (CARE) commenced its establishment in 2005. In 2008 it was given the status of “Deemed To Be University”. It has received approvals from various statutory bodies such as MCI, INC, TNNMC, AICTE, COA, BCI and PCI. It has also been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an A++ grade. According to The Week 2020, CARE is placed 15th among private medical colleges and 32nd overall among medical schools. CARE has been ranked 98th among the top universities in India by NIRF.
