About the XAT 2026 Exam
The XAT is a national-level entrance exam for admission to MBA and PGDM programs in top management institutes like XLRI and other XAT partner colleges across India. The XAT 2026 exam took place on January 4, 2026 . The test was held in a single shift across 288 centres in 121 cities all over India. This year, close to 1.35 lakh candidates applied for the XAT exam. Many students found the XAT 2026 question paper to be of moderate difficulty. Based on this, experts expect the XAT cut-off marks for 2026 to be similar to last year's cut-offs.

How to Calculate Your XAT 2026 Score
After downloading your response sheet and answer key, you can calculate your expected raw score. Since the XAT 2026 exam was held in a single shift, there will be no process called 'score normalisation'. Your raw score will directly be used to calculate your percentile rank for the final results. Use the following rules to calculate your score:
- For every answer you got correct, add 1 mark to your total.
- For any question you did not answer, add 0 marks . There is no penalty for unanswered questions.
- For every answer you got wrong, subtract 0.25 marks (one-fourth of a mark) from your total.
- If you skipped 8 questions or more consecutively (one after another) in any section, subtract an extra 0.10 marks for each skipped question after the seventh one.
- For incorrect answers in the General Knowledge (GK) section, you will get 0 marks . There is no negative marking for wrong answers in the GK section.
Add up all your marks according to these rules. The final sum will be your estimated XAT 2026 raw score. This score will help you understand your performance and prepare for the next steps in the MBA admission process.
What Happens Next?
Once you have calculated your estimated score, you will have a clearer idea of your performance. XLRI will soon announce the official XAT 2026 results based on these scores. The results will include your percentile, which is used by various business schools for MBA admissions. Keep checking the official XAT website for future updates regarding results and further admission processes.
