Minimum Marks for Each Category
To pass the WB SET 2025 exam, students must score a certain percentage of marks. This percentage is based on their category. These are the minimum scores from both exam papers combined.
| Category | Minimum Qualifying Percentage |
| General | 40% Aggregate Marks (Both Papers Together) |
| EWS (Economically Weaker Section) | 40% Aggregate Marks (Both Papers Together) |
| OBC (Other Backward Class) | 35% Aggregate Marks (Both Papers Together) |
| SC (Scheduled Caste)/ST (Scheduled Tribe)/PwD (Persons with Disabilities)/Trans-Genders | 35% Aggregate Marks (Both Papers Together) |
How WB SET Cutoff Marks are Decided
The WBCSC decides the cutoff marks for each subject and category. These marks are important because only students who meet them will be considered qualified. The cutoff marks can change each year based on things like the number of students who took the exam and how well they performed.
Students must score more than or equal to the cutoff marks for their specific category and subject. This is a very important step to become eligible for the Assistant Professor role.
