West Bengal NEET PG Round 1 seat allotment results will be released on November 27, 2025 . Students can check their results after 2 PM on the official website: wbmcc.nic.in/pg-medical-counselling . This result will show which medical college and specific course a student has been offered for postgraduate medical studies.

The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) is responsible for this counselling process. The seat allotment result is crucial for all candidates who participated in the Round 1 counselling. It confirms if a student has secured a provisional seat based on their performance and preferences.

Key Dates for WB NEET PG Round 1 Allotment

Here are the important dates and times for the Round 1 seat allotment:

EventDate and Time

The seat allotment PDF, once released, will detail which candidates have been assigned seats. It will specify the college and the particular course each student has received. This allotment is based on several factors: the student's NEET PG 2025 scores, the choices of colleges and courses filled by the student during the preference period, and any applicable reservation criteria.

What to Do After Seat Allotment

Students who receive a seat in Round 1 must complete important next steps to confirm their admission. These steps involve reporting to the assigned college and making a choice about their allotted seat.

Reporting to the Allotted College

Shortlisted candidates must report in person to the college or institute they have been allotted. It is very important to complete this step within the given timeframe.

The dates for reporting to the allotted college are:

  • November 28, 2025
  • From December 1 to December 3, 2025

When reporting, students must bring all necessary original documents. They also need to carry photocopies of these documents. Make sure all your academic certificates, identity proof, NEET PG scorecard, and other required papers are ready. Failing to report or provide the correct documents can lead to the cancellation of the allotted seat.

Your Choices After Allotment: Freeze or Upgradation

After checking your allotted seat, you will have two main options to choose from: "Freeze" or "Upgradation" (also known as "Float"). Your decision here is very important and will affect your participation in future counselling rounds.

Choosing "Freeze"

If you are fully satisfied with the medical college and course that has been allotted to you, you should choose the "Freeze" option. This choice means you are accepting the seat permanently and do not wish for any changes. Once you choose to "Freeze" your seat, it is confirmed for you. You will then complete the admission formalities at that college. By freezing, you secure your position in that specific college and course, and you will not be considered for further rounds of counselling for a different seat.

Choosing "Upgradation" (Float)

If you are interested in trying for a potentially better seat in the next round of counselling (Round 2), you can select the "Upgradation" option. This choice indicates that you wish to participate in Round 2 to see if you can get a different, more preferred college or course.

When you choose "Upgradation," your current seat is retained. This means your Round 1 allotted seat is safe with you while you wait for the results of Round 2. If you are allotted a new seat in Round 2, your old seat from Round 1 will be automatically given up. If you do not get a new seat in Round 2, you will continue to hold the seat that was allotted to you in Round 1. This option allows students to explore better opportunities without the risk of losing their current provisional admission.

Official Website for Updates

Students should regularly visit the official website, wbmcc.nic.in/pg-medical-counselling , for any new announcements or changes. The website will be the primary source for all information regarding the counselling process, including revised schedules or further rounds. Staying updated is key to a smooth admission process.
