The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has announced new fees for students taking the Higher Secondary (HS) 2026 examinations . These exams will follow a new semester system. The Council has released a full list of fees that students need to pay for enrolment and other services.

All students appearing for the HS 2026 exams must pay an enrolment fee for each semester. This is a new system for these exams. Schools have received clear instructions on how much money to collect from each student and where to send it.

Understanding the Main Fees for HS 2026 Exams

For each student, a total of ₹215 will be collected per semester for the main enrolment process. This total amount includes several smaller charges. Here is a breakdown of these main fees:

Fee Type Amount (per semester)
Enrolment Fee₹155
Form Processing Charge₹30
Convenience Fee₹30
Total Collected from Student ₹215

How the Collected Money is Used

Out of the ₹215 collected from each student, the money is divided between the Council and the schools. This helps cover different costs related to conducting the exams.

  • ₹190 from each student's fee will be sent to the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) . This money supports the Council's work in organizing and conducting the exams.
  • The remaining ₹25 from each student's fee will stay with the school. This amount is called a 'centre grant'. Schools use this money to manage the exam centre and provide facilities during the examinations.

Centre Fee for Examinations

Apart from the enrolment fees, schools also need to collect a separate centre fee from each student. This fee helps the school manage the exam center on the day of the examination.

  • Each student must pay a centre fee of ₹25 .
  • Schools will collect this ₹25 from each student.
  • This money must be given to the respective centre secretary before the Class 12 Board examinations begin. This ensures that the exam centres have enough funds to run smoothly.

Late Submission Penalties for Schools

The Council has set specific deadlines for schools to submit student enrolment details and fees. If schools miss these deadlines, they will face a penalty.

  • If a school sends the enrolment details and fees after the given time limit, they will have to pay a fine of ₹150 for each student.
  • This rule is in place to ensure that all information and payments are submitted on time, making the process smooth for everyone.

Fees for Supplementary Examinations

Students who need to retake a paper, known as a supplementary examination, will also have to pay a fee. These fees cover the costs of re-evaluation and conducting additional exams.

Supplementary Exam Fee Type Amount (per paper)
Fee per paper₹50
Centre grant per paper₹25
Total per supplementary paper ₹75

This means that for every paper a student retakes in a supplementary exam, they will pay a total of ₹75 . The ₹25 centre grant part will stay with the school conducting the supplementary exam.

Important Note for Schools

The WBCHSE has clearly asked all schools to follow these fee rules strictly. Schools must make sure that they collect all the correct fees. They also need to deposit these fees within the deadlines mentioned by the Council. This will help in the smooth conduct of the Higher Secondary 2026 examinations under the new semester system.
