Uttar Pradesh schools will remain closed for summer vacation until June 24 . The state government extended the holiday period due to the ongoing heatwave. Classes are scheduled to resume on June 25 .
Revised Vacation Schedule
The Uttar Pradesh government revised the summer vacation calendar for all recognized schools, including those under the Basic Education Council. The official order moves the end date for summer holidays to June 24 annually. This change ensures a uniform academic schedule across the state.
School Reopening Preparations
Teachers, Shiksha Mitras, instructors, and non-teaching staff must report to schools from June 22 to June 24 . These days are dedicated to preparing for the new academic session. Preparations include lesson planning, textbook distribution, and ensuring mid-day meal services are ready.
Staff will also attend meetings with the School Management Committee. Cleaning school premises, preparing Bal Vatika sections, and checking sports equipment are other key tasks. The government mandated that all arrangements must be complete before students return.
Uniform Academic Calendar and Facilities
Officials stated the revised schedule aims for greater uniformity. It reduces the need for local authorities to declare extensions during extreme weather. Schools must maintain essential facilities. These include adequate drinking water, electricity, and sanitation for students.
RTE Compliance and Yoga Day
The government reminded schools of their obligation to comply with the Right to Education (RTE) Act. This requires a minimum of 220 working days per academic session. Schools will also organize activities for International Yoga Day on June 21. This initiative promotes health and wellness for students and staff.
