Scholarship Details
The scholarship funds will be directly credited to student bank accounts. This transfer will occur between September 29 and October 2, 2026. The Public Financial Management System (PFMS) will process these payments.

Eligibility and Reach
The Post-Matric Scholarship is open to students from all categories. This includes Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, General, and minority communities. Social Welfare Minister Asim Arun stated the government aims to prevent any student from losing financial aid. The goal is to remove financial or technical barriers to education.
Student Impact
In the 2025-26 academic year, over 3.16 lakh students missed scholarship opportunities. This was due to technical issues. Of these, 31,836 students were from government schools. Another 37,795 were from aided institutions. More than 2,46,426 students were from private colleges.
Payment Process
Sanjeev Singh, Director of the Social Welfare Department, confirmed that direct bank transfers simplify tracking. This ensures funds reach students efficiently. The government is working to streamline the process for all eligible students.
