The medical education department in Uttar Pradesh (UP), known as the Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (DGME), has announced new dates for the third round of UP NEET PG 2025 counselling. Students who want to get admission into postgraduate medical courses in UP can now register online starting from January 23, 2026 . The final list of seat allotments for this round will be released on February 9, 2026 . These revised dates were necessary because the minimum score required for the NEET PG 2025 exam, called the cutoff, was recently lowered for seats across all of India.
NEET PG is a national exam for doctors. It allows them to get admission into higher medical courses like MD (Doctor of Medicine) or MS (Master of Surgery) after completing their MBBS degree. Counselling is the process where students select their preferred medical colleges and courses based on their NEET PG exam scores and ranks. The cutoff score is the lowest mark a student needs to achieve to be eligible for admission. The Central Government revised this cutoff, which then caused changes in the counselling schedules for different states, including Uttar Pradesh.
