Uttar Pradesh students from disadvantaged backgrounds can apply for free residential education through the Jay Prakash Narayan Sarvodaya Vidyalaya (JPNSV) scheme. The program, run by the state's Social Welfare department, covers over 100 schools offering boarding facilities and educational materials. Special coaching for competitive exams like NEET, JEE, and CUET is available for students in classes 11 and 12.

JPNSV Scheme Objectives and Structure

The scheme aims to provide education to talented students from Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) categories. It focuses on academics, character development, and sports. The program serves students from Class 6 to 12.

JPNSV Scheme Benefits

  • Access to science and computer labs, libraries, playgrounds, smart classrooms, and recreation rooms.

Eligibility Criteria

Students applying for Class 6 must be between 10 and 12 years old. For other classes, age limits correspond to educational qualifications. Applicants must have completed Class 5 with a valid marksheet.

Admission to vacant seats in Classes 6, 7, 8, and 9 in Government Ashram System Schools occurs via a district-level entrance examination. Class 11 admissions are based on Class 10 marks.

Application Process

Applications can be submitted online or offline. The JPNSV schools were formerly known as Ashram Vidyalayas. There are 101 schools, comprising 69 for boys and 32 for girls. These schools are affiliated with either the CBSE or UPMSP boards.

Online Application Steps

  1. Visit the official website: ats.upsdc.gov.in .
  2. Click on the "Registration" option.
  3. Enter student name and mobile number. Verify with OTP.
  4. Complete registration, upload photo and guardian signature (minimum 100 KB).
  5. Submit the form and obtain a registration number.
  6. Print the application form and submit it to the concerned school.

Offline Application Steps

  1. Fill the prescribed application form.
  2. Attach all required documents.
  3. Submit the form to the Superintendent/Principal's Office.
  4. Attend the examination at the designated center.

A merit list will be released to confirm admission eligibility.
