The Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education will award bonus marks to students who achieve in sports. This policy applies to Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations. The aim is to recognize student athletic achievements. It also encourages balancing sports with academics.
Bonus Marks for Sports Achievements
Students will receive between 5 and 20 bonus marks. The number of marks depends on their highest sports achievement level. This applies to recognized sports competitions. The award is for participation and medal wins.

Eligibility and Guidelines
Marks are only for participants in events organized by the School Games Federation of India (SGFI), NCC, or Scouts and Guides. Students need a valid certificate. This certificate must be issued by January 31 of the examination year. Achievements from Class 9 count for Class 10 exams. Achievements from Class 11 count for Class 12 exams. Only one certificate offering the highest bonus marks will be considered.
These bonus marks can be added as grace marks. They can be applied to a maximum of two subjects. This is to help students pass their examinations. Students should ensure their certificates are current and valid. The board will review all submitted documentation.
