Bengaluru Campus to Offer New Programs
The new campus will provide undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Initial course offerings will focus on high-demand fields. These include business management, computer science, and finance.
Other planned programs are game design and biomedical sciences. These subjects align with current job market needs. They are intended for students seeking international career paths.
Approval Process and Key Figures
The University of Liverpool completed its campus preparations within one year. This followed the receipt of an intent letter. A detailed readiness review ensured compliance with regulations. The Ministry of Education issued the final Letter of Approval.
Dr. Vineet Joshi, Secretary of Higher Education, presented the approval letter. He is also the chairman of the University Grants Commission. Professor Richard Grose, Provost of the University of Liverpool Bengaluru, received the letter.
The handover ceremony occurred with several dignitaries present. Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan attended the event. Dr. S Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs, was also present. UK Foreign Secretary Rt Hon Yvette Copper joined the ceremony.
Other attendees included Shri Vikram Misri, Foreign Secretary of India. Ms. Lindy Cameron, the British High Commissioner to India, also participated.
