The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) announced updates regarding the UGNEET 2026 counselling process. Systemic improvements to the online counselling software and process are now in effect. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) implemented these changes for undergraduate and postgraduate medical admissions. The goal is to increase transparency and student-friendliness. Counselling is expected to start soon.
Key Updates for NEET Aspirants
Several changes will affect candidates participating in the upcoming counselling. Aspirants who choose the "Upgrade/ Willing to Upgrade" option do not need to report to their initially allotted college. Their seat remains secured for the next round.
Seat resignation is now an online process. Eligible candidates can resign directly on the MCC portal within the specified deadline. They will not need to visit the college for this procedure.
Applicants for the NRI quota in Deemed Universities can now upload all necessary documents via the MCC portal. This simplifies the documentation process.
NEET UG 2026 Counselling Schedule
The NEET UG 2026 counselling schedule is anticipated shortly. Candidates who cleared the Re-NEET 2026 examination are eligible. They must register for each counselling round. Following registration, candidates will enter their choices based on the available seat matrix.
Seat allocation will depend on the choices entered, seat availability, and applicant numbers. Students receiving a seat allotment must report to their assigned colleges. This is for admission and document verification.
