Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) that already offer a two-year PG program in ODL or online mode can now offer this one-year option. This is only permitted in the same subject area. The HEI must meet specific credit requirements. The program needs approval from the institution's competent statutory bodies. Compliance with UGC (Open and Distance Learning Programmes and Online Programmes) Regulations, 2020, is mandatory.
The one-year PG program must conform to NEP 2020 provisions. It must also follow all applicable UGC regulations and guidelines. HEIs can only offer this program if their corresponding two-year PG program in ODL/online mode is already UGC-recognized.
Admission is limited to students meeting the eligibility criteria. This includes successful completion of a four-year Bachelor's degree with Honours. For professional programs like MBA, MCA, or PGDM, entry-level eligibility conditions are set by their respective regulatory bodies.
