IIT Bombay has announced the examination dates for the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) and the Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) in 2027 . Both design entrance exams will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2027 . Further details regarding registration, eligibility criteria, and other important information are expected on October 1, 2026 . An official information bulletin will be released on that date.
Exam Schedule
IIT Bombay, the conducting body for both UCEED and CEED, confirmed that both examinations will take place in a single shift nationwide. The official websites for UCEED and CEED will provide all necessary updates and application procedures.
UCEED Details
UCEED is for admission to undergraduate design programs. These include the Bachelor of Design (BDes) courses offered at institutions like IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Roorkee, and IIITDM Jabalpur.
Eligibility for UCEED
Applicants for UCEED must have passed or expect to pass their Class 12 or equivalent examination in 2026 or 2027 . The age criteria for general category candidates states they must be born on or after October 1, 2002 . For Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disability (PwD) applicants, a five-year age concession applies, meaning they must be born on or after October 1, 1997 . Candidates are allowed a maximum of two consecutive attempts for UCEED.
CEED Details
CEED is the entrance examination for postgraduate design admissions. This includes Master of Design (MDes) programs and Ph.D. in Design courses.
Eligibility for CEED
To be eligible for CEED, candidates must hold a degree, diploma, or postgraduate course of at least three years duration after Class 12. Alternatively, candidates can be in their final year of such a course. There is no age limit for CEED applicants.
