This is the first round of counselling for doctors who want to study further in medical degree or diploma courses.

What is NEET PG Counselling?

The counselling process is how these qualified doctors get admission into different postgraduate medical courses like MD (Doctor of Medicine) or MS (Master of Surgery) in various medical colleges. Telangana NEET PG 2025 Seat Matrix is Out

The KNRUHS has also published the 'seat matrix' for this counselling round. The seat matrix is a list that shows exactly how many seats are available in each college and for each course. It also shows how many seats are for service candidates (doctors who have served in government hospitals) and non-service candidates. This list specifies if seats are for clinical (patient-focused) or non-clinical (research/lab-focused) specialities.

Students can check this important list on the official KNRUHS website. It helps them understand their chances of getting a seat in their desired course and college.

Who Can Apply?

Only students whose names appeared in the final merit list for Telangana NEET PG 2025 are eligible to participate in this counselling round. Earlier, KNRUHS announced that 3,158 students were eligible for these postgraduate medical admissions.

Understanding Different Colleges and Quotas

The counselling covers admissions to various types of medical colleges:

  • Government Medical Colleges: Colleges run by the government.
  • Private Non-Minority Medical Colleges: Private colleges open to all students.
  • Private Minority Medical Colleges: Private colleges that have some seats reserved for certain minority groups.
  • Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad: A well-known medical institute in Hyderabad.

These seats come under the 'Competent Authority Quota', which means the state government (through KNRUHS) manages these seats for fair admissions.

Important Rule: If You Get a Seat, You Must Join

Students must remember a very important rule for this counselling. If a student participates in the online choice filling and is successfully given a seat in a college they selected, they must accept that seat and join the college . If a student confirms their choice but then fails to join the allotted course and college, they will face a penalty. Such students will not be allowed to take part in any future rounds of the Telangana NEET PG counselling process for the 2025-26 academic year. This rule ensures that seats are not wasted and are given to serious candidates.

Students are advised to check the KNRUHS website regularly for any further updates regarding the counselling process and seat allotment.
