The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) has extended the deadline for first-year Intermediate admissions for the 2026-27 academic year. Students now have until August 31, 2026 , to apply.
Admission Details and Rules
The extended deadline applies to all affiliated junior colleges across Telangana. This includes government, private aided, unaided, residential, welfare, KGBV, incentive, and composite degree colleges offering the two-year Intermediate program. Colleges must adhere to the revised schedule and admission regulations.
Colleges are prohibited from conducting entrance exams. Admissions must be based on GPA, subject-wise grade points, and marks from the qualifying examination. The approved reservation policy must be followed for all admissions.
A minimum of 33.33% of seats in each category must be reserved for girls, especially in colleges without separate girls' sections. Students seeking admission after a gap year require a local candidate or residential certificate from the local Tehsildar for that period.
For children of Jogini families, colleges should record the mother's name instead of the father's name if that is how it appears on their qualifying records.

College Guidelines and Student Safety
Unaided junior colleges are restricted to their approved number of sections. Each section can accommodate a maximum of 88 students. Colleges cannot offer admissions in discontinued subject combinations. Opening additional sections requires prior approval from TGBIE.
Colleges that violate these rules face penalties, including potential disaffiliation. They must display the number of sanctioned sections, filled seats, and vacant seats at the college entrance. This information requires daily updates.
Anti-drug declarations are mandatory for both students and parents. Colleges must ensure adequate safety and security measures for female students. Foreign nationals or OCI students admitted must have Form II submitted to the local police station within 24 hours, as per the Immigration and Foreigners Act 2025.
