The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) has announced important changes for students taking the 2026 Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE). A major update is the removal of the five-year time limit for students who failed earlier exams. This means students can now reappear for their papers at any time. TGBIE has also updated exam fees and extended the deadline to pay these fees until November 14 . The timetable for the 2nd-year exams has been released, with examinations starting from February 26, 2026 .

No More 5-Year Limit to Reappear for Exams

Previously, students who did not pass their Intermediate exams had a limit. They could only reappear for these exams within five years from their first attempt. This rule caused stress for many students who might have missed their chance due to various reasons. Now, TGBIE has removed this rule completely. Students who have failed their 1st or 2nd-year papers can now reappear for them at any point in time. There is no longer a time limit. This change offers a significant opportunity for many students to complete their Intermediate education without facing a time restriction.

Revised Exam Fees for 2026 Intermediate Exams

TGBIE has also made changes to the exam fees for the 2026 Intermediate exams. Students need to be aware of these new amounts when applying:

  • For 1st-year students , the exam fee has slightly increased from INR 520 to INR 530 .
  • If a 1st-year student has an English practical exam, an additional fee of INR 100 will apply.
  • For 2nd-year students , the total exam fee is now INR 630 .
  • Students from Science and Vocational streams will pay a total of INR 870 . This fee covers both their theory and practical exams.

Students should check the official TGBIE website for the exact fee structure based on their specific subjects and stream.

Fee Payment Deadline Extended

To help students complete their application process, TGBIE has extended the last date for fee payment. Students can now submit their application fees for the Telangana Board exam 2026 until November 14 . It is important for all students to pay their fees by this new deadline to ensure their applications are accepted for the upcoming exams.
